About Exter

Exter Indexing is based in Haarlem, the Netherlands. I live here with my husband, two sons, and two cats. The name Exter is derived from the word ekster, which means magpie in Dutch. My love of birds is the inspiration for this name and concept.

I am the Reviews Editor of, and regular contributor to, the various indexing societies’ professional journal, The Indexer. I regularly attend annual conferences and keep up to date with best practices through society membership and volunteer work.

Topics

I can provide back-of-the-book and embedded indexes in English and Dutch. I am familiar with indexing with codes in Word, as required by certain academic presses, such as Cambridge University Press. Furthermore, I can make both subject indexes and name indexes. My specialties include:
